The 21st Dalian International Walking Festival was held in Dalian, Liaoning Province on May 20 and 21. With one main venue and six sub-venues, this year’s festival boasted the highest number of venues ever. Participants from both China and abroad came together to Dalian to immerse themselves in the lively atmosphere of mass walking.

The Dalian International Walking Festival is a mass walking event authorized by the International Marching League (IML) Walking Association. This year’s festival embraces the theme of “Peace, Health, Communication: Into the Future Together”. The festival has been successfully held for 21 sessions. It has become a platform for sports, a grand event for the city, and a festival for citizens.

Compared to previous sessions, the venue arrangement for this year’s festival has been adjusted and optimized. There is one main venue and six sub-venues, which is the highest number of venues ever. The venues span from Lyushun in the south to Changxing Island in the north, and to Zhuanghe in the east, making it convenient for more walking enthusiasts to choose a venue that suits their needs and preferences.

To provide a better walking experience for enthusiasts, the festival created traditional cultural exhibition areas with distinctive Dalian characteristics at the starting point and along the routes. Fitness performers and drumming teams were invited to perform live entertainment, creating a festive atmosphere. Additionally, Dalian’s specialty cuisines were showcased, allowing visitors from home and abroad to deepen their understanding of Dalian.
