On May 28, the vessel named “HMM INCEDA” berthed at the Dalian Port Container Terminal to commence loading and discharging operations as scheduled. This event marked the official launch of the Vietnam-Thailand Line of HMM Co., Ltd. in cooperation with the Liaoning Port Group, thereby adding a new shipping route to Southeast Asia departing from Dalian Port.
As a comprehensive shipping and logistics company, HMM Co., Ltd. currently owns over 100 vessels and operates more than 60 shipping routes, covering 110 countries and ports worldwide. The newly launched Vietnam-Thailand Line is the third Southeast Asian shipping route opened by HMM Co., Ltd. in cooperation with the Liaoning Port Group. The company intends to allocate six container vessels with a capacity of 1700 TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units) each on this route, with a focus on facilitating trade between major ports in the RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) member countries, including the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand and South Korea.
The opening of this shipping route has strengthened the Southeast Asian shipping network of the Liaoning Port Group, offering a more expedient maritime transportation option for the import and export of goods such as fruits and chemicals in the countries along the route. It has become a novel bond in intensifying economic connections among various regions, augmenting the stability and tenacity of industrial and supply chains.
In recent years, the Liaoning Port Group has actively implemented the Belt and Road Initiative, with the goal of building a world-class strong port. To this end, the group has strengthened the cooperation between ports and shipping companies, improved the service capability of the hub port, and unblocked comprehensive maritime logistics channels between Northeast China, surrounding regions, and RCEP member countries. All these adopted measures have successfully achieved high-quality development of the foreign trade container business, providing efficient port services and infrastructure to facilitate the continuous deepening and expansion of cooperation between Dalian and RCEP member countries.
To provide comprehensive services for the new shipping route, Dalian Container Terminal Co., Ltd. has fully leveraged both the software and hardware advantages gained from the successful completion of the Smart Port 2.0 construction. The company focuses on the diversified needs of customers, tailors personalized service plans, steadily improves various service indicators, and effectively implements the work policy of “strengthening the service industry.” During the operations of the “HMM INCEDA” vessel, the company has completed the loading and discharging of nearly 700 standard containers safely and efficiently, earning high praise from cooperative partners.
