On May 30, the Online International Communication Event “Daka China: Understanding the Chinese Path to Modernization (in Liaoning)” interview delegation visited Xiaoshi Yizhuang, a national 4A-level scenic spot located in Xiaoshi Town, Benxi Manchu Autonomous County, Liaoning Province, to experience firsthand the enthusiasm and vitality of this internet-famous rural tourism destination.
Established in 2016, Xiaoshi Yizhuang covers an area of over 1,000 mu (about 165 acres), with a building area of more than 20,000 square meters and a total investment of over 200 million yuan. It has developed into a comprehensive scenic spot and an internet-famous tourism destination, integrating characteristic tourism, rural leisure, catering and entertainment, cultural performances, ecological wellness, and the integration of three industries.
Young live-streaming influencers can be spotted all over the scenic spot. “Since 2022, Xiaoshi Yizhuang has adopted a new model of ‘offline + online + e-commerce + new media + industry chain’. We operate the scenic spot’s online accounts on new media platforms such as Tik Tok and Kwai, and have online influencers live-stream the various tourism activities, including food, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment, attracting over 2 million visitors annually and achieving rapid revenue growth,” said Han Guohua, the general manager of Xiaoshi Yizhuang.
Collaboration between the school and enterprise has also provided new momentum for the development of Xiaoshi Yizhuang. According to Han Guohua, the live-streaming influencers that the delegation saw during their visit all come from the School of Rural Revitalization and Modern Industry, which has provided ample talent resources and intellectual support for the high-quality development of the enterprise. In recent years, Xiaoshi Yizhuang has partnered with the Liaoning Institute of Science and Technology to establish the School of Rural Revitalization and Modern Industry. Every year, the school sends 50 outstanding graduates to Xiaoshi Yizhuang for concentrated training and incubation during winter and summer breaks, which helps alleviate the local graduate employment problem to some extent.
Over the past seven years, Xiaoshi Yizhuang has won several national and provincial honors, including “National Key Village for Rural Tourism”, “National Forest Village”, and “National Cultural and Tourism Integration Pilot Site”. In the future, Xiaoshi Yizhuang will continue to rely on the unique natural environment and cultural landscape of Benxi and strive to forge new paths for the integrated development of rural tourism.
