On June 6, the Launch Ceremony of the 2023 “Precious Liaoning Delicacy” Cuisine Festival and Liaoning Cuisine Celebration were held in Shenyang, Liaoning.

As an important event of the 2023 Northeast Asia Popular Cuisine Culture Exchange Week, this launch ceremony includes the 2023 “Precious Liaoning Delicacy” Photography Exhibition and the 2023 Northeast Asia Cuisine and Products Exhibition. The photography exhibition features nearly a hundred selected works, which fully showcase the cultural and tourism, and gastronomic features of Liaoning, including its ecological resource conservation, natural scenery, tourist attractions, and cultural festivals, as well as local cuisine and Liaoning culinary skills. The cuisine and products exhibition displays and sells distinctive cuisines from Northeast Asian countries, local specialty products, ready-to-eat Liaoning cuisine, famous Liaoning snacks, and specialty foods from time-honored food enterprises. Meanwhile, it invites masters and star chefs of Liaoning cuisine to show their culinary skills, focusing on promoting the inheritance of Liaoning cuisine and culture and building Liaoning cuisine brands.

Liaoning cuisine is a unique culinary tradition that is deeply rooted in history and culture. It is characterized by the use of locally sourced ingredients and special culinary techniques, which are combined with the dietary customs of the region’s diverse ethnic groups to create a distinctive cuisine. The event, “Precious Liaoning Delicacy” – Northeast Asia Popular Cuisine Culture Exchange Week, has been held for three consecutive years. Through this event, Liaoning has built a platform for Northeast Asian folk exchanges, employing cuisines as a bridge to promote cultural exchanges and mutual learning, deepen cooperation in more fields, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
