This summer, the nighttime economy in Shenyang, Liaoning Province is booming, with 41 major nighttime economy blocks fully opened, over 100 “international-style” nighttime economy scenes unveiled, more than 100 nighttime economy activities held, and 24-hour economic demonstration zones developed, creating a bustling and vibrant atmosphere throughout the city.
From June to October this year, Shenyang will organize the “North Riverside City, Endless Summer Nights” nighttime economy theme activities. During this period, all 41 major nighttime economy blocks in Shenyang will be fully opened, creating over 100 diverse, fashionable, trendy, and immersive nighttime economy scenarios with both an “international style” and a bustling atmosphere. Thirteen districts and counties (cities) will simultaneously launch nighttime economy theme activities with their unique characteristics, strengthen scenario promotion, create a strong atmosphere, and fully stimulate nighttime consumption vitality. Business entities in the nighttime economy blocks will be organized to work together to enrich night tours, night shopping, night dining, night entertainment, night exhibitions, night fitness and other consumption formats, and hold more than 100 nighttime economy activities, such as food festivals, fashion shows, music festivals, stage plays, street performances, VR games, firework displays, and so on. At the same time, Shenyang will actively guide shopping centers, automobile sales service shops, malls, supermarkets, restaurants and other consumer places to extend their nighttime business hours, carry out customer-based closure and non-closing nighttime promotion activities, and focus on cultivating and developing 24-hour economic demonstration zones in Shenyang’s Shenhe and Heping districts.
As one of the first provincial-level nighttime economy demonstration blocks in Liaoning Province, the Kerry Parkside XM Night Fair has been in operation for five years and has become a landmark brand that lights up the nighttime economy in Shenyang. From June 2 to September 17 this year, the XM Night Fair will be open for business every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and statutory holidays from 4 pm to 9 pm. During this period, the XM Night Fair will gather more than 100 brands including cultural and creative products, intangible cultural heritage, handmade crafts, trendy items, pet-friendly products, China-chic products, and street food. Through a brand-new encounter, it will bring the citizens of Shenyang to experience the myriad of flavors hidden in their daily life and to feel the integration and intersection of cultures. At the same time, the five county-level regions of Xifeng, Changtu, Kaiyuan, Lingyuan, and Heishan will also gather at “XM”, inviting visitors to blend in with the land and nature and experience the beautiful scenery on the black soil.
In recent years, Shenyang has aimed at cultivating and constructing a regional international consumption center city and has persisted in prioritizing the development of the nighttime economy as a key strategic measure to stimulate urban consumption upgrades. Through the linkage of the urban area and the integration of commerce, tourism, culture, and sports, Shenyang has made concerted efforts to promote the construction of nighttime economy carriers, create nighttime consumption scenarios, and has developed a group of nighttime economy brand blocks such as XM, Beishi, Xita, and Hongmei. Currently, there are 18 nighttime economy blocks that have been awarded the titles of provincial and municipal nighttime economy demonstration blocks, making nighttime economy an important carrier to increase employment, expand consumption, showcase urban charm, and improve quality in Shenyang.
