2023 Liaoning Tour Summer Camp for Foreign Teachers and Students, with the theme of “Understand China·Charming Liaoning” was held in Liaoning University. Teachers and students from the Confucius Institute of Irkutsk State University in Russia learned Chinese in Liaoning University and other schools, visited cultural venues in Shenyang, and studied Chinese culture. The event was sponsored by Liaoning Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Tieling Municipal People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and organized by Liaoning University, Tieling County Government, and Liaoning Vocational Technical College of Modern Service.

On July 12th, Russian teachers and students visited Tieling Manchu Folk Custom Exhibition Hall. They found the charm of traditional Chinese culture in an immersive way by  experiencing the art of inscription with metal and stone, a national intangible cultural heritage. In Liaoning Vocational Technical College of Modern Service, they learned the history of cheongsam and watched how it was made. They even wore them to experience the beauty of Chinese costume.

In the following days, Russian teachers and students will experience classes of Chinese, Peking Opera, clay sculpture, and Chinese painting. By visiting the Liaoning Provincial Museum, Liaoning Science and Technology Museum, Shenyang Imperial Palace Museum, and other places, they will encounter the long history and splendid culture of Liaoning Province and perceive the charm of Chinese culture.
