Liaoning will be represented by 27 athletes and 6 support staff in the Hangzhou Asian Games, where they will compete in 11 major sports and 18 minor events events.

Among the 27 Liaoning athletes, there are two Olympic champions, Ding Xia and Cui Xiaotong, as well as several world champions such as Wang Yidi and Chen Xingtong. Without a doubt, the women’s table tennis team, women’s singles, and mixed doubles events featuring Wang Yidi and Chen Xingtong, the women’s rowing quadruple sculls event with Cui Xiaotong, and the Chinese women’s volleyball team with Ding Xia are all key gold medal prospects for the Chinese delegation at the Hangzhou Asian Games.

A spokesperson from Liaoning Provincial Sports Bureau told reporters, “Looking at the list of Liaoning athletes competing in the Hangzhou Asian Games, although the participants and events are not much, on the whole many of our athletes are renowned, generally possessing strong abilities and having better shots for gold medals. In addition, in group events of ball games with relatively high visibility, we contribute significantly to our country, which has always been a fine tradition and a major advantage of Liaoning sports.”
