On September 24, Jinzhou Medical University, Liaoning University of Technology and Bohai University jointly hosted the unforgettable Jinzhou International Campus Carnival. International students from 52 countries gathered on the campus of JZMU. During this event, they showcased their national dress, delicacies and folk culture, put on cultural performances and learned from each other.
With the Mid-Autumn Festival around the corner, a mooncake-making session was specially set up during the Carnival and international students were invited to experience the culture and customs of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival and savor the “Taste of China”. Yasmine Blkadi, a Moroccan student, and Enkhzul Enkhbayar, a student from Mongolia, learned how to make mooncakes step by step from teachers carefully. After flattening the dough, rolling the filling into a ball, placing the mooncakes into molds, they soon finished making the mooncakes with exquisite patterns. “This time I had the opportunity to experience making mooncakes on site. I had great fun and even greater fun eating them. I liked every flavor,” said Enkhzul Enkhbayar.
International students enjoyed the performances while tasting the mooncakes they made by themselves. Polloby, an international student from Bangladesh, performed several dances on stage, winning rounds of cheers and applause. “I am very fond of participating in the International Carnival! I can not only enjoy the scrumptious food and arts of different countries but also make many new friends. It feels fantastic!” said Polloby. During the performance, the international students also sang songs of different styles, such as Dream It Possible and Night in Ulan Bator, to express their sincere love for different cultures and yearning for a beautiful life.
