Liaoning Sends a Delegation of 31 Members to Compete at Hangzhou Asian Para Games

The Chinese Sports Delegation, comprised of 723 members, has been established for the upcoming 4th Asian Para Games, scheduled to take place in Hangzhou from October 22 to 28, 2023. Among the delegation, a total of 31 members are from Liaoning Province, including 19 athletes, 6 coaches, 2 competition assistants, 1 team leader, and 3 staff members. Notably, the group of athletes boasts four champions of previous Paralympic Games: Di Dongdong, Lu Dong, Li Yingli, and Ai Xinliang, as well as several world champions, including Zhang Xiaotong.

According to reports, the Chinese Sports Delegation will participate in all 22 sports at the Hangzhou Asian Para Games. Liaoning athletes will compete in 8 sports and 42 events, including athletics, swimming, archery, rowing, cycling, judo, wheelchair basketball, and blind football. Among these, athletics, swimming, archery, cycling, and blind football are key events in which the Chinese team aims to win gold medals. Athletes such as Di Dongdong, Zhao Ping’an, and Wang Hao possess the potential to secure gold medals in their respective categories, including the 100-meter race, long jump, and relay events.

The 4th Asian Para Games is closely linked to the upcoming Paris Paralympic Games. Out of the 22 sports, 12 of them serve as qualification matches or point-earning competitions for the Paris Paralympics. Athletes from Liaoning are targeting dual objectives, aiming to achieve outstanding results and secure qualification for the Paralympic Games.
