On November 13, the “China-Eurasia International Union of Universities for Cultural and Art Education” held its inaugural conference in Shenyang. The union is jointly initiated by 36 universities including Shenyang Normal University and St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design, as well as three public institutions. Eight presidents from foreign universities, such as St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design, Karaganda State University, and the Institute of Economy and Trade of Tajik State University of Commerce(TSUC), arrived in Shenyang to witness the establishment of the union.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI). The union will strengthen exchanges on education and mutual learning of civilizations among the countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
Engaging in regional economic, cultural, and educational development, the union will gather international resources and conduct both theoretical and practical research. By enhancing resource sharing between China and Eurasian countries, the union will serve as a platform for mutual learning and exchanges. Additionally, through cooperation on education and expedited development of the teaching workforce, the union will help create a high-level regular platform for academic exchanges and promote high-quality cooperation on academic research.
Saidqosim Mukhtorov, Director of the International Center and Global Affairs Department at the Institute of Economy and Trade of TSUC, pointed out that the establishment of the union provides a platform for universities of countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative to exchange and cooperate. The TSUC has already collaborated with Shenyang Normal University, and through this platform, the TSUC will seek more cooperations and exchanges with universities of China and Eurasian countries to jointly promote international education development.
