2023-12-27

On December 27, the Information Office of Liaoning Provincial People’s Government held a press conference, introducing the innovative and exemplary achievements made by Liaoning in the fields of radio, television, and webcasting in 2023.

Since the beginning of this year, the Liaoning Radio and Television Bureau has undertaken an extensive and ongoing endeavor to improve the quality of radio, television, and webcasting products province-wide. In pursuit of this objective, Liaoning has organized a series of events including thematic competitions aimed at fostering innovation and excellence in audiovisual products, the “Golden Children” (Xiao Jin Tong) talent show, as well as works collection and exhibition. These concerted efforts have fostered a continuous flow of exceptional audiovisual products under the “Liaoning Brand”, garnering multiple prestigious national-level awards.

In 2023, the Liaoning Radio and Television Bureau strengthened its thematic planning by reserving a batch of high-quality film and television projects. Throughout the year, eight television series were registered and approved, with one receiving official licensing. Five television animations were registered and approved, all of which were officially licensed. Additionally, 13 projects including web movies and dramas were registered and approved. The Bureau has also unveiled a series of influential and nationally acclaimed audiovisual masterpieces under the “Liaoning Brand”. To date, the radio and television system in Liaoning has produced 35 works that have been honored with national-level awards and recognized for their innovation and excellence.

Meanwhile, the Liaoning Radio and Television Bureau has strengthened international communication efforts and expanded the promotion of audiovisual products overseas, facilitating global comprehension of authentic China and Liaoning. It organized the “Perceiving China, Recording Liaoning—100-Day Documentary Exhibition in Mongolia” event. The launch ceremony took place in Dalian on July 20, receiving coverage from national-level international media platforms such as the “Belt and Road Portal” and “China Pavilion”. Ten original Liaoning-produced documentaries were showcased on eight major media platforms in Mongolia, including the Mongolian National Broadcaster and Mongolian LIKE HD Station, captivating the hearts of Mongolian audiences. In 2023, three television documentaries were selected for the “Lovable China” international communication project. Among them, the documentary Stories Between Human and Nature was aired on the CGTN Documentary Channel of China Central Television (CCTV), reaching over 80 countries and regions worldwide on August 28.

Furthermore, the Liaoning Radio and Television Bureau has constructed collaborative platforms and established four associations in radio, television, and webcasting fields. These include the Radio, Television and Webcasting Association of Shenyang Metropolitan Area, the Radio, Television and Webcasting Association of Liaoning Coastal Economic Belt, the Convergence Media Association of Liaodong Green Economic Zone, and the Radio, Television and Webcasting Association of Liaoxi Pilot Zone for Integrated Development with Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei. Through these initiatives, the coordination of news publicity has been significantly enhanced, leading to the release of over 1,000 joint reports.
