The 5th China-Russia Teenager New Year Cultural and Art Exchange (Liaoning) was held from January 3rd to 5th. 76 teachers and students from Style exemplary youth dance troupe from Primorsky krai of Russia participated in the event.
The Liaoning’s Sino-Russian Friendship Association, the Liaoning Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Liaoning Provincial Women’s Federation co-organized this activity to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, further enhance friendship between people from both sides and vigorously promote exchanges between Chinese and Russian teenagers. During the three-day event, adolescents from Russia visited the Shenyang Imperial Palace, learned Chinese characters and tasted dumplings. Dance teachers from Russia and Shenyang joined hands to teach dance lessons in Shenyang Art Training School of China Oriental Song and Dance Troupe and Lijing Art Training Center in Shenyang for young people from Russia and China. Russian adolescents learned Dunhuang dance, one of the classical dance genres in China based on numerous complex murals in Dunhuang, a city in northwest China and Yangge, a popular folk dance of the Han ethnic group in northeast China, while teenagers from Shenyang learned Russian folk dance called Kalinka.
On the evening of January 5th, Chinese and Russian teenagers participated in the Cultural and Art Exchange activity accompanied by songs, constant laughter, applause, and a warm atmosphere. 32 programs including dances like Golden Peacock, the Orchid Pavilion, Flying Dance, Red Sail, and Growing up under the Sun, and songs like Katyusha, White Snow and We Choose C with guitar accompaniment and so on have been presented to the audience. Young people from both sides gathered together to conduct art exchange in the form of singing and dancing, ushering in the New Year.
Apart from that, a series of Sino-Russian exchange activities like Sino-Russian Cultural Symposium and 2023 Sino-Russian Economic Exchange Conference in Liaoning Province as well as activities aimed at enhancing friendship between Chinese and Russian teenagers were hosted by Liaoning Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries in 2023, which have won extensive attention and high praise. This year will also witness a host of fruitful Sino-Russian exchange activities to be organized to further enhance people-to-people exchanges and economic and trade cooperation between the two sides.
