In recent days, a total of 852 domestic cars were loaded onto a roll-on/roll-off (RO-RO) ship at the vehicle export terminal of Dalian Port and set sail for Europe, marking a promising start in the export of domestic cars from Dalian Port in 2024. In 2023, Dalian Port, the sole car shipping port in Northeast China, achieved a record-breaking export of 102,773 units, an increase of 143% year-on-year.
It is said that in 2023, the vehicle export terminal of Dalian Port of Liaoning Port Group implemented various measures to expand its trade volume, including strengthening the cooperation with foreign trade shipping companies, optimizing the allocation of domestic storage resources, continuously expanding the service network for foreign trade business, and focusing on boosting the export of domestic brands to the Russia’s Far East region, as well as improving international transit services for commodity cars. These efforts have effectively stimulated new momentum for the growth of foreign trade business.
Currently, the customer network of the vehicle export terminal of Dalian Port has achieved comprehensive coverage of major coastal automobile enterprises. The vehicle export terminal of Dalian Port has gradually developed into a pivotal RO-RO hub for North-South shipping of commodity cars in China, serving as a base port for the export of commodity cars in Northeast China, a demonstration port for rail-sea intermodal transportation of commodity cars, and a crucial node of the Northeast Sea and Land Corridor.
