This Year’s First Batch of Black-Faced Spoonbills at Zhuanghe
2024-03-24

Recently, the first batch of five black-faced spoonbills has flown to the Three River (Zhuanghe River, Baoma River and Xiaosi River) Estuary Wetland in Zhuanghe County-level City, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. In the near future, a multitude of black-faced spoonbills will come to Zhuanghe in flocks. The black-faced spoonbill is an endangered bird in the world and a national first-level protected animal in China, which is hailed as “the giant panda among birds”. Zhuanghe is one of its important breeding areas. As an indicative species of wetland environmental quality, the black-faced spoonbill has a continuous population expansion here, which is a strong proof of the “ecological livability” of Zhuanghe. Now, it has become a bright “ecological name card” of Zhuanghe.
