Recently, several “panda ducks” (smews) – rare birds known as “indicator species in wetland ecosystems”, appeared in the Liaohe River Qixing Wetland Park of Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. The smews hover, forage, or play on the river from time to time. Their unique black and white feathers and elegant postures have attracted many bird-watching enthusiasts to come and take pictures of them. The flying birds and rivers in spring create a picturesque ecological landscape together.
