Treasures from nearly 70 years of archaeological excavations in China are revealed in a landmark exhibition at China Institute Gallery in New York City. The exhibition presents the artworks and cultural relics on view from September 5, 2024, through January 5, 2025.

Willow Weilan Hai, the gallery director, said that this special exhibition entitled “Gold from Dragon City: Masterpieces of Three Yan from Liaoning, 337-436” is the first exhibition in the US that showcases the valuable cultural relics of “Dragon City (longcheng)” (now Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province), enabling us all to profoundly understand the importance of national harmony and cultural exchange.

Hai added that the friendly cooperation of the ancient Silk Road “inspired and enriched the cultures along the road undoubtedly”. She mentioned that globalization not only exists in modern times, but also existed in the ancient world, at least in that of Asia. The cultural relics of the Three Yan states established by the Murong Xianbei people manifest the communication and exchange between different cultures.
