Tree-shaped gold shimmering headdress, also called buyao, which literally means “swaying with steps”, is decorated with swaying leaves. When people walk around wearing it, the leaves dance and sway with every movement. The headdress was introduced to North China through the Silk Road. Today, it has become an iconic artifact representing the Three Yan culture in ancient China.
