On November 29, the Information Office of Liaoning Provincial People’s Government held a press conference to introduce the work progress related to drug safety in Liaoning Province.

Given the complexity of production processes, challenges in quality control, and numerous risk factors associated with vaccine products, Liaoning has deeply explored the application of information technology in vaccine regulation. It has taken the lead nationwide in developing a digital vaccine production regulation system, enabling precise regulation and real-time major risk prevention and control in vaccine production.

To enhance the systemization, standardization and scientific rigor of drug regulation, Liaoning has reengineered workflows, unified standards and norms, and bridged information gaps. Through the deep integration of regulatory operations with information technology, Liaoning has established a provincial smart drug regulation platform. This platform facilitates full-process online operations and digital management for administrative approvals, inspections, and law enforcement.

Liaoning has also advanced a demonstration project for the digital supervision of drug production, and completed the construction of a digital supervision system for the production of pharmaceuticals under special control, ensuring end-to-end digital supervision. Additionally, the smart drug regulation platform has been upgraded, with 856 system functionalities optimized and enhanced.

Next, the Liaoning Provincial Medical Products Administration will collaborate with the Information Center of the National Medical Products Administration to develop a research and application platform for “AI-Driven Smart Drug Regulation”. This joint initiative aims to integrate AI technologies into smart drug regulation, driving innovation and accelerating the digital transformation of the pharmaceutical industry in Liaoning.
