On the campus of China Medical University in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, the three Yemeni brothers Kamal, Amgad, and Tawhib always attract people’s attention with their striking resemblance when they are together.

The father of the three brothers runs an advertising company in Saudi Arabia, where they met Chinese expatriates during their teenage years. “The Chinese people we met were honest, warm, and pragmatic. They always mentioned China, which sparked our early admiration for the country.” Kamal said, “Our family is loyal to Chinese products, such as refrigerators, televisions, and mobile phones, all of which are ‘Made in China’.”

Becoming doctors is a shared dream of the three brothers, as well as their father’s earnest expectation. Their father once told them, “China offers advanced medical technology and high-quality medical education, providing medical students with rich clinical cases that will greatly benefit your future careers.” Inspired by his words, all the three brothers decided to start their medical studies in China.

Kamal, the eldest brother, is currently in his third year of undergraduate clinical medicine at China Medical University, while his two younger brothers, Amgad and Tawhib, are in the second year of clinical medicine studies. Kamal, who was the first in the family to attend China Medical University, spoke highly of it, “China Medical University is equipped with advanced laboratories, teaching equipment and medical technology. The graduation internship takes place in the best local hospital. Moreover, international students are welcomed by the teachers and students here who are always willing to help others, which makes me feel at home.” Therefore, Kamal had no hesitation in recommending China Medical University to his brothers when they were choosing schools.

During their time at China Medical University, the three brothers not only acquired knowledge, but also gained valuable practical experience through organized activities. “We participated in the school’s free clinic activities, experiencing firsthand the responsibility and honor of being a doctor.” Amgad said with excitement, “The feeling of being trusted and needed is amazing. I will study harder to become a qualified doctor as soon as possible.”

“I love my university and will recommend more Yemenis to come to China.” Tawhib, the college sophomore, plans to pursue postgraduate studies at China Medical University. While his eldest brother, Kamal, is determined to obtain the “medical practitioner’s qualification certificate” in China, so that he can use the medical knowledge he learned here to establish a hospital in their hometown and contribute to the local medical industry.
