On December 16, the Information Office of Liaoning Provincial People’s Government held a press conference of the series on the “Nature’s Embrace, Liaoning’s Grace” ice and snow economy in Jinzhou, presenting five premier scenarios of ice and snow and hot spring tourism in Jinzhou.
In recent years, thanks to its unique advantages in ice and snow, hot springs, barbecue and cuisine, folk customs, and mountains and seas, Jinzhou has vigorously developed its ice and snow economy and ice and snow tourism by creating programs that integrate culture, sports, and tourism, namely, ice and snow plus sports events, ice and snow plus folk customs, ice and snow plus hot springs and wellness, and ice and snow plus barbecue and cuisine. This year, centered around four themes of ice and snow culture, ancient city culture, performance culture, and Spring Festival customs, the city will launch five premier ice and snow tourism scenarios such as playing in ice and snow, soaking in hot springs, enjoying folk customs, tasting delicious food, and celebrating the Spring Festival, with an aim to allow visitors to experience the atmosphere in Northeast China for the upcoming Spring Festival and the exciting winter tourism in Jinzhou.
Throughout the winter, the city has hosted various ice and snow-related activities including ice and snow camps for students, a university winter sports carnival, an ice and snow-themed dragon boat race, and a wellness-oriented hot spring cultural festival. It has fostered a strong atmosphere of “traveling with events, and watching events while traveling”, transforming the “traffic” brought by sports events into the “increment” of cultural tourism consumption, and further stimulating new vitality in its tourism market.
With a focus on creating the “Lyushan Mount Tourism Belt” and the “Urban Tourism Belt”, as well as the 14th Millennium Guta Temple Fair, the 11th Beizhen Temple Fair, and the 33rd Yixian Fengguo Temple Fair, Jinzhou has ingeniously integrated folk exhibitions with local characteristics, intangible cultural heritage folk performances, shopping fairs for the upcoming Spring Festival, and local barbecue and cuisine, allowing visitors to fully experience the cultural charm and strong “festival atmosphere” of this ancient city in this winter. Moreover, a variety of cultural events at the Jinzhou Grand Theater will be staged successively, showcasing a song and dance feast of Jinzhou’s folk customs and displaying the rich and colorful regional culture of Jinzhou.
