In the Relay Protection and Automation Laboratory of Northeast Electric Power Research Institute, the fully independently developed controllable substation technology team of State Grid Liaoning Electric Power Supply Co., Ltd. is currently constructing a real-time digital dynamic simulation system in preparation for the upcoming dynamic test in the 500 kV fully independently developed controllable substation in Tieling City, Liaoning Province.
The 500 kV Tieling substation is China’s fully independently developed highest-voltage-level controllable substation under construction. Following the design of a new generation of substation secondary systems, the project employs 16 categories of original technologies in independently developed controllable equipment, models, standards, and protocols with mature operational experience, focusing on the independence of primary equipment key materials, independence in secondary equipment standards, chips, software platforms, and innovation in digital systems.
State Grid Liaoning Electric Power Supply Co., Ltd. fully leverages the guiding role of major grid projects on independently developed innovation chains and industrial chains, driving the research and industrial development of independently developed operating systems, databases, chips, materials, and primary and secondary equipment. It has facilitated efficient collaboration with power grid enterprises among 20 universities, 8 research institutions, and 100 industrial units, providing the “Liaoning Solution” to address similar issues and serve the construction of new power systems.
The project’s construction has activated the vitality of constructing ten-million-kilowatt-level new energy stations in northern Liaoning, driving an investment increment of tens of billions of yuan. With a total research and development investment of 300 million yuan and an engineering investment of 500 million yuan, it is projected to annually stimulate domestic funds for fully independently developed construction and renovation of substations up to 100 billion yuan, highlighting the catalytic effect of the new power system fund chain.
