At the beginning of 2025, Liaoning Provincial Museum has launched a series of new exhibitions. Notably, on January 1, the cultural relic exhibition of “She Walks in Beauty: Women in Classical Roman Time” grandly kicked off at the museum.

The exhibition is jointly organized by Liaoning Provincial Museum in China and Capitoline Superintendence for Cultural Heritage in Rome, Italy. Centering on exhibits from Capitoline Museum of Italy, the exhibition showcases the life and spiritual world of women in the Classical Roman Time 2,000 years ago, such as their family life, social life, inner life and diverse status. The exhibits cover pottery ware, bronze ware, glassware, mosaic tiles, murals, statues, gold and silver coins, etc.

Paola Piccione, one of the curators for the exhibition, said, “I highly recommend Liaoning residents to embark on a cultural journey to the history of ancient Rome and ancient Roman women. The exhibition is unmissable.” Piccione also expressed the hope that the cultural institutions and museums between Italy and Northeast China’s Liaoning Province could further deepen cooperation to launch more themed cultural relic exhibitions for Liaoning people.
