On the morning of June 23, the event “Bridge of Light and Shadow: Northeastern Illinois University Delegation’s Photography Journey in China” continued at Shenyang City University, where teachers and students from China and the US gathered together to enjoy a Peking Opera performance.

Actors from the Shenyang Peking Opera House showcased their best skills, presenting a lively and brilliant performance. The delegation of 14 teachers and students from Northeastern Illinois University in the US immersed themselves in the unique charm of this oriental art, and responded with enthusiastic applause. Both Chinese and US teachers and students actively interacted with the Peking Opera actors on stage, attempting to imitate every move of Peking Opera. Two US students even dressed up as a famous general and an imperial concubine to feel the unique allure of Peking Opera firsthand, grasping the Peking Opera style effortlessly.

In just one morning, Peking Opera, with its enchanting oriental aesthetics, has built an artistic bridge for Chinese and US teachers and students, writing a beautiful chapter in the artistic exchanges between China and the US.
