The airport of every city serves as a window showcasing local culture. At Shenyang Taoxian International Airport, passengers can view images and descriptions of precious artifacts from the Liaoning Provincial Museum’s collection, gaining insights into the local history and culture. Now, the Liaoning Provincial Museum has made further strides in assisting Shenyang Taoxian International Airport in building a “cultural airport.”

Passengers arriving in Shenyang will take shuttle buses named “Youchun Hao (Spring Outing)” and “Yifeng Hao (Auspicious Phoenix)”, adorned with images of cultural relics such as “Painting of Lady Guoguo’s Spring Outing”. The buses will also broadcast stories behind “National Treasures of Liaoning”, allowing passengers to discover Liaoning’s cultural treasures during transit.

This summer vacation, the Liaoning Provincial Museum has assisted Shenyang Taoxian International Airport in hosting a Summer Travel Cultural Carnival. By adopting the innovative model of “culture + transportation”, it aims to build a “cultural airport”, boost the city’s cultural soft power, and enable passengers to experience the unique charm of Liaoning’s culture during their journey.

On the second floor of the departure hall at Shenyang Taoxian International Airport, there is a dedicated counter for cultural and creative products from the Liaoning Provincial Museum, allowing passengers to purchase exquisite souvenirs at their final stop before leaving Liaoning. These products are exquisitely designed based on the museum’s collection, such as Jade Pig-Shaped Dragon, Pomegranate Vase, “Painting of Auspicious Cranes”, and “Painting of Court Ladies Adorning Their Hair with Flowers”. Additionally, a Liaoning Cultural Information Service Desk has been set up on the first floor of the airport, providing passengers with convenient access to exhibition information for cultural venues like the Liaoning Provincial Museum, offering a richer cultural experience for summer travel.
