On November 7, at the blueberry base of Shenyang Agricultural University, Professor Rodrigo from Chile’s Agricultural Research Institute shared on-site expertise of blueberry planting and management techniques with the university’s teachers, students, and farmer representatives. He delivered lectures indoors, and led them out for field practice, integrating theory with practice.

Blueberry is a competitive industry in Chile, boasting solid basic research and strong technological capabilities. Professor Rodrigo was invited to Shenyang for the first time to provide blueberry-related technology training, with the support of the China-Chile Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Blueberries.

“Professor Rodrigo has brought novel concepts, emphasizing high-quality blueberry production through upstream seed selection, cultivation, and pest control,” said Li Bin, vice president of Shenyang Agricultural University. He added that Chile’s blueberry preservation technology is also worthy of learning, given that the imported blueberries from Chile can maintain excellent quality during three months of sea transportation and shelf life.
