Recently, the 2025 Liaoning Museums Teenage Education Activity Brand Selection and Promotion Event, and Outstanding Museum-School Cooperation Case Performance came to a successful close at the Liaoning Provincial Museum. Under the theme of “Revitalizing Cultural Relics Resources and Deepening Museum-School Collaboration”, the event aimed to inject new vitality into teenage cultural education.

Since its launch in August 2025, this event has received enthusiastic responses from museums and schools across Liaoning Province. The submitted cases covered three main categories: exhibitions, lectures, and courses. After expert review, 18 outstanding cases were selected for on-site performances, including 12 from the primary school group and 6 from the secondary school group.

During the event, over 200 museum representatives, teachers, and students from across the province enjoyed the performances by the participating students. “Knocking on the Door of History” explored the ancient civilization of Liaoning; “Memories of the Ancient City, Passing on the Cultural Flame” highlighted the roots of Liaoning’s local cultures; “Hello, Worker Lei Feng” interpreted the spiritual power of role models of the times; and “Discovering the Plant Kingdom” unlocked the mysteries of natural science. Adopting the form of scene plays, these vivid works brought cultural relics to life and made history tangible, fostering cultural confidence and drawing strength for teenagers’ growth through immersive experiences. They fully demonstrated the fruitful results of museum-school cooperation in teenage cultural education.

The performance case “Knocking on the Door of History”, jointly submitted by the Liaoning Provincial Museum and the Wanghu Road Primary School (Changbai Campus) in Heping District, Shenyang City, was selected as an outstanding case in the primary school group. Through role-playing and vivid narration by teenage docents, and supplemented by technological means in lighting, sound effects, and props, it embarked on a journey to explore the origins of ancient Liaoning, and retrace the ancient times of Jinniu (Gold Ox) Mountain and Gezi (Pigeon) Cave, recreating how Chinese ancestors lit the spark of civilization.

The selection of “Knocking on the Door of History” as an outstanding case is an affirmation of the Liaoning Provincial Museum’s efforts to promote the normalization and professionalization of museum-school cooperation and innovate educational methods. In recent years, the Liaoning Provincial Museum has been committed to optimizing the supply of cultural education resources for teenagers, guiding them to visit museums, experience Liaoning’s history and culture, and enhance their cultural confidence.

The Liaoning Provincial Museum will seize this opportunity to further leverage its high-quality resources, transforming its rich historical and cultural resources into vivid teaching materials for educating and inspiring people. It will also innovate new forms of museum-school cooperation, aiming to provide a regional model for the construction of a museum-based teenage education system.
