On March 29, the global design campaign for the logo and mascot of the Northeast China Football League concluded with the league’s new visual identity officially unveiled.

The mascot, “Hu Ge”, is modeled on the Northeast tiger and creatively blends the regional cultures of Northeast China’s four provincial-level regions with the defining features of a football league. It presents the image of a friendly, courageous, and down-to-earth Northeasterner. The design not only highlights the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the region, but also conveys the league’s spirit of perseverance, openness, and inclusiveness. With strong viral appeal, the mascot is poised to become a vibrant cultural ambassador for Northeast China.

Centered on the shape of a football, the league logo underscores the sporting nature of the event. The flame element at the tail conveys the passion of competition while also symbolizing the strong momentum of development in Northeast China’s culture, sports, and tourism sectors. The design also cleverly incorporates the initials H, J, L and N, drawn from the initials of the pinyin names of Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, and Neimenggu (Inner Mongolia), clearly reflecting the concept of coordinated development across Northeast China’s four provincial-level regions. Its vibrant colors further symbolize the region’s diverse cultures and abundant resources, capturing the appeal of regional integration.
