The 2026 Liaoning (Shenyang) Ballet Competition concluded at the Liaoning Grand Theatre on the evening of August 10. Over 200 students from professional ballet schools across China and ballet enthusiasts participated in the competition, breaking the age limit for the first time to promote the popularization of ballet: the oldest participant was 65 years old, and the youngest was 7 years old.

The competition featured a tight schedule but rich content, with professional and amateur dancers competing on the same stage, showcasing a blend of classical and modern ballet. The participants actively explored the diverse expressions of ballet art, and honed their skills in the competition. World-renowned ballet dancer Tan Yuanyuan and other experts served as judges. The competition also offered masterclasses by renowned ballet artists and special performances of exquisite ballet pieces, making it a true showcase of ballet artistry.
