The Qixi Festival falls on Aug 19 this year. Known as Chinese Valentine’s Day, it is also called the “Qiqiao Festival (Begging for Skills Festival)” or the “Daughters’ Festival”. It is not only a day for couples but also a day for girls to pray for wisdom and skills.
