Liaoning Launches Five New Initiatives to Expand International Market

In 2023, Liaoning Port Group has achieved a significant increase in its foreign trade of commercial vehicles through market exploration and customer base expansion. In February, its volume of foreign trade for commercial vehicles surpassed 6,200 units, an increase of 83% year-on-year, of which nearly 4,500 units were exported, an increase of 150% year-on-year.
Like Liaoning Port Group, a number of Liaoning enterprises have taken steps to diversify their markets, consolidating traditional markets and exploring emerging markets in RCEP member countries and the Belt and Road Initiative member countries. According to sources from the Department of Commerce of Liaoning Province, in 2023, Liaoning will optimize its foreign trade entities and international market layout, and expand the scale of import and export to key countries and regions with five new initiatives, including supporting enterprises to grab orders overseas, encouraging enterprises to utilize new channels and technologies to develop international markets, organizing enterprises to participate in international exhibitions, promoting the upgrade of key trade promotion activities, and supporting enterprises to develop new modes of foreign trade.
In terms of supporting enterprises to grab orders overseas, Liaoning will organize enterprises to participate in key overseas exhibitions. In 2023, 70 key overseas exhibitions will be arranged to cover pillar industries such as equipment manufacturing, metallurgy and petrochemicals, which highlights the deepening of trade cooperation between Liaoning and Northeast Asian countries, and helps enterprises to explore the markets in RCEP member countries and the Belt and Road Initiative member countries.
In terms of encouraging enterprises to utilize new channels and technologies to develop international markets, Liaoning supports foreign trade enterprises to take advantage of well-known online platforms for international market promotion, which offer resources, channels, and viewership for enterprises to conduct online digital display and intelligent marketing, and to invite buyers, showcase their products and promote their brands without any interruption.
In terms of promoting the upgrade of key trade promotion activities, Liaoning will continue to hold the Liaoning Export Commodities (to Osaka, Japan) Exhibition, along with Japan Gift Fair and Japan Garment Fair, which is expected to create a new platform for Liaoning enterprises to deepen their access to the Japanese market.
In terms of supporting enterprises to develop new modes of foreign trade, Liaoning will continue to release the spillover effect of market procurement trade policies, encourage foreign trade enterprises in cities across the province to file their information on the information network of market procurement and trade pilot of Liaoning Xiliu Garment Market, boost the export of the Liaoning specialties, and promote greater participation in international trade through the platform for market procurement and trade under new modes of business. Additionally, Liaoning will accelerate the establishment of overseas warehouses as the frontier to enhance the global competitiveness of Liaoning enterprises and to upgrade the global image of Liaoning brand.
