March 12th (Beijing time) marked the end of 4-day long 2023 TWIF World Indoor Championships in Northern Ireland. China Ansteel Tug of War Team, as the representative team of China, won champion in the women’s 540kg category, second runner-up in the men and women’s 580kg category, and second runner-up in the women’s 500kg category, glory of one gold medal and two bronze medals .
TWIF World Indoor Championships, as an A1-class international competition, is the highest-level international individual competition only second to comprehensive sports events of the Olympic Games. 31 teams from more than 10 countries and regions including Italy, Netherlands, and so on have participated in 2023 TWIF World Indoor Championships. China Ansteel Tug of War Team, upholding the spirit of “one rope with concerted efforts, shared dreams, and solidarity to keep challenging and never give up”, engaged in the fierce competitions with teams from other countries.
In the women’s 540kg category, with the echoing cheers of “China” and “Ansteel”, the female team of China Ansteel Tug of War Team beat others in six rounds of competition with their outstanding skills, careful cooperation, and strong will and won the champion, impressing the world again with China’s excellent mastery of tug of war. In men and women’s 580kg category and women’s 500kg category, China Ansteel Tug of War Team stayed in solidarity, fought with bravery, and conquered obstacles to finally win two bronze medals. The competition became a platform for China Ansteel Tug of War Team to win much acclaim, present images of China, promote the brand image of Ansteel and make friends with teams from other countries.
According to China Ansteel Tug of War Team, they will learn the lessons to find weaknesses and push the limits to achieve greater success, so as to make more contributions to the development of China’s tug of war.
It is known that Ansteel Tug of War Team, formerly Ansteel Track and Field Team, was established in 2006. For all these years, Ansteel Tug of War Team has achieved its leadership in China’s tug of war with 107 gold medals in national competitions. Meanwhile, it has participated in TWIF World Indoor Championships on behalf of China for five times since 2010 and won 9 medals in total.
