Resounding Russian songs, cheerful dance performances, powerful but gentle Tai Chi ... To celebrate the 74th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia while promoting friendly exchanges between the people from two countries, “Spring is Coming: 2023 Liaoning China-Russia Friendship Party” was held in Liaoning Grand Theatre.
13 wonderful performances were presented, including the male solo Flock of Cranes, female solo Little Bird, mixed chorus Evening on the Roadstead, poetry reading Everything Starts with Love, dance Katyusha and The Dragonfly, and so on, which won praise from the audience. The theater was filled with excitement and joy while audience were singing along with performers on stage. Liaoning Opera House, Shenyang Conservatory of Music, Katyusha, Kalinka, Birchwood Russian Choirs and overseas students from Russia took part in the performance.
Alexei, a Russian student from Shenyang Normal University said, “I am very honored to participate in today’s performance and hope to make more contributions to the cultural exchange between Russia and China in the future.” Wang Anna, a Russian student from Liaoning University, said, “Today I watched a lot of Chinese and Russian performances and met a lot of Chinese and Russian cultural exchange messengers of different ages, and I admire them very much. After graduation, I want to engage in China-Russia cultural exchange too.”
On the subsequent symposium on China-Russia cultural exchange, representatives from Liaoning People’s Art Theatre, Liaoning Opera House, Liaoning Ballet, Liaoning Song and Dance Troupe, and Shenyang Conservatory of Music held conversations with Russian cultural workers. “Liaoning Ballet performed Russian and Chinese ballets such as Spartak and Mulan in Russia, winning applause from Russian audiences. Liaoning Ballet also hired Russian dancers to come and teach, which was warmly welcomed by the performers here. In addition, Liaoning People’s Art Theatre once invited Russian drama directors to Shenyang to hold lectures, receiving strong reactions from the audience,” Xu Jing, director of Liaoning Ballet’s Performer Management Center, said.
Luo Li, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Liaoning Province and president of Liaoning Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, said that the event could serve as an opportunity to give full play to the role of Liaoning Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries as a bridge and link for communication, so as to actively promote extensive and in-depth exchanges and cooperation between art groups from China and Russia.
It is reported that the Liaoning China-Russia Friendship Party has been held for seven sessions and has become a brand activity of Liaoning’s foreign cultural exchange.
