Huanzidong National Wetland Park is located between Xiushuihezi Town and Yemaotai Town in the west of Faku County, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. The park has basically maintained a pristine wetland landscape and is one of the important wetlands in Liaoning with many rare bird species inhabiting here and hunting for food. There are 27 species of national key protected birds in the park, including white crane, white- naped crane, oriental white stork, great bustard and many other first-class national protected birds; in addition, there are 21 species of second-class national protected birds.

In May 2012, Faku County was awarded the title of “the Hometown of White Cranes in China” by China Wildlife Conservation Association. The white crane has now been selected as the “County Bird” of Faku County.
