In May, there is a flower sea at the Peony Garden, in the north of Wensu Pavilion in Shenyang Imperial Palace. Peonies bloom in the wind and the garden is full of brilliant colors. When the breeze blows, the fragrance of the flowers spreads all around, and large pink and white flowers sway in the wind, attracting visitors to appreciate them and take photos.

Peony belongs to the peony family, which was cultivated as an ornamental plant in the Southern and Northern Dynasties and brought into the imperial garden in the Sui Dynasty. Through root propagation, the scenery of large-scale peony flowers was available and since then was appreciated by the public. In the Tang Dynasty, peony was also called tree peony. Whether in terms of planting area, scale or variety, it ranked higher than any other flowers and became the king of all flowers.
