Summer water is always rippling in Jinling Reservoir of Cuiyan Town, Linghai City, Jinzhou. In the nearby valley full of blooming sunflowers, thousands of egrets are flying freely. The charming scenery here has attracted a bunch of international students for research and experience.

With the first National Ecology Day approaching, 22 international students from College of International Education, Jinzhou Medical University, visited here for social practice themed “Perceiving China”. Students are here to experience the natural environment of Jinzhou’s countryside and learn the achievements made in ecological construction and preservation.

Mangniutun Village, Cuiyan Town was selected as one of the first batch of Liaoning Province’s practice and innovation bases themed on “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets”. For all these years, Mangniutun Village has stayed committed to building ecological green corridors, ways, and banks. Comprehensive control plans for rural water systems have been carried out, turning dried rivers into lush water, deserted mountains into green. Designing, planning, and preserving of green land have been upgraded in all respects.

In Luling, the old couple Lu Min and Tian Wangui have been promoting afforestation and preservation of egrets for 40 years. Students talked with the couple to know about their story of protecting natural environment. Luke, a student from Fiji, said, “In Cuiyan Town, I see people here protecting natural environment very well. The picturesque scenery of water and mountains here is indeed charming. Local people here protect environment and birds in the same way they treat their family, thus achieving the peaceful coexistence between man and nature.” Clint, a student from Zimbabwe, said, “I have witnessed the beautiful natural environment of Liaoning’s countryside in person. The mountains, water, grass, and trees here have all brought me delight. I am hoping to visit countryside of other cities in Liaoning.”

“With the first National Ecology Day approaching, we led international students here to experience the achievements made in Jinzhou’s ecological preservation, learn and spread China’s philosophy of ecological preservation. It’s really meaningful for international students, ” said Wang Aimei, dean of College of International Education, Jinzhou Medical University.
