Sand once flying all over the sky has now been transformed into boundless green land. Through 70 years of unremitting efforts, Zhangwu County, Fuxin City, Liaoning Province has completed the historical transformation from desert to oasis. The current sandy land area of the whole county has decreased from 5.24 million mu to 1.99 million mu while the forest area has increased from 180 thousand mu to 2.12 million mu, with forest coverage rate rising from 2.9% to 31.47%. The first defense line for sand prevention and control in Liaoning has been pushed 13 kilometers northward.
