Dalian Accelerates Construction of Northeast Asia LNG International Transit and Distribution Base
十一月 01,2023

On October 30, the transport ship “MU LAN” completed the bonded LNG reloading operation of 65,000 tons at the dedicated dock of the Dalian Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) receiving station and set sail for Thailand. This is the first international transit business of LNG in northern China, establishing Dalian as the first LNG port in northern China with international transit capabilities. It is a crucial step in building the Northeast Asia LNG International Transit and Distribution Base in the Dalian Area of China (Liaoning) Pilot Free Trade Zone.

With Dalian becoming an LNG port with international transit capabilities, it is expected that 15 large LNG vessels will berth at the port annually, contributing to an annual throughput of over 2 million tons and driving imports and exports worth over 10 billion yuan. Such development will advance the construction of Dalian Northeast Asia International Shipping Center and International Logistics Center, expedite the establishment of the Northeast Sea-Land Corridor, and promote Dalian’s transition from being an “end-point” city to a “node” and “hub” city.
