On May 8, Liaoning Ballet’s neoclassical ballet Notre Dame de Paris was performed at the Liaoning Grand Theater. The ballet play is adapted from a French literary classic, and co-created by artists from Germany, France, Spain, Austria and other countries, who are invited by Liaoning Ballet. Patrick de Bana, the choreographer and director of the ballet play, is a world-renowned dance artist. He perfectly integrates elements from both classical ballet and modern dance, with pure dance vocabulary and internationalized expression.
The stage art of the ballet play is inspired by European oil paintings, with simple but delicate design. The dance costumes are in the dominant hues of gray and claret, and the stage lights present superb and elegant color tones. The neoclassical ballet Notre Dame de Paris utilizes a new form of stage art to narrate the classic story. The ballet play opened for the second round of performances in Shenyang, and Liaoning Ballet will soon hold a world tour for the neoclassical ballet.
