The Vision China event, themed “Treasuring the Past, Enriching the Future”, was held in Northeast China’s Liaoning Province from June 6th to 9th. Experts, scholars and youth representatives from China, the United States, France, Italy, Russia, Belarus, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Kenya and other countries, visited Liaoning’s cities, including Shenyang, Benxi and Fushun, to explore world cultural heritage sites such as “One Palace and Three Imperial Mausoleums” (that is the Shenyang Imperial Palace, Fuling Mausoleum, Yongling Mausoleum and Zhaoling Mausoleum) and Wunyu Mountain.

At Fuling and Yongling Qing Imperial Mausoleums, experts, scholars and youth representatives from home and abroad marveled at Liaoning’s dedication to preserving cultural relics and ancient architecture. Marcella Festa, Associate Professor at School of Cultural Heritage of Northwest University, said: “I am lucky to see such magnificent architectural complex. I hope to come to Liaoning again in the future to see more ancient sites. I have taken a lot of videos and photos to show to my students and friends.”

They also visited Wunyu Mountain in Huanren Manchu Autonomous County, Benxi City, Liaoning Province. They explored attractions such as the Yixiantian Plank Road, Shibapan Ancient Road, Fengyun Plank Road, and Wunyu Spring. Jess Lim, an international student from Malaysia studying at Shenyang Conservatory of Music, successfully conquered the challenging Qiyun Road to reach the mountain’s summit. She expressed, “The breathtaking views of the rolling clouds from the top made all the hard work worthwhile. Along the journey, I gained valuable historical and folklore knowledge. Wunyu Mountain not only boasts stunning natural beauty, but also holds a wealth of cultural heritage.”

They also had a comprehensive visit to the Old City of Hetu Ala in Liaoning Province, the birthplace of Nurhachi, the first leader of the Qing Dynasty. They explored Manchu residential houses, savored a local banquet featuring eight dishes and eight bowls, witnessed the simulated enthronement ceremony of a Qing emperor and folk performances, toured the Cheongsam Museum, and experienced embroidery and paper-cutting. Additionally, some foreign team members even put on cheongsam and joined in the yangge dance (a Chinese folk dance), showcasing the elegance of traditional Chinese costumes.
