On a scorching summer day, 18 students from the Confucius Institute at Irkutsk State University in Russia arrived in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning Province, to participate in the diverse summer camp activities at Liaoning University.
For these days, the Russian students not only received Chinese language training at Liaoning University, but also visited various cultural sites in Shenyang, including Shenyang Imperial Palace, Beiling Park, Shenshuiwan Park, Liaoning Science and Technology Museum, and Chinese Xibo Museum. They were able to immerse themselves in traditional Chinese arts like Chinese painting, clay sculpture, and paper-cutting. Despite the brief learning period, all the students felt they have gained valuable experiences and were inspired to continue learning Chinese and exploring Chinese culture after witnessing the endless charm of China and its Liaoning Province firsthand.
During this summer holiday, students from France, Senegal, and other countries will also join Liaoning University’s summer camp. The Confucius Institute Office at Liaoning University will continue to build the brand of summer camp activities, foster cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, and promote Chinese culture on a global scale.
