To further tell Chinese stories well and showcase the timeless charm of China’s excellent traditional culture, the “Heart to Heart · Celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival Together” Chinese and Foreign Education and Cultural Exchange Event was held at Liaoning Vocational and Technical College of Modern Service on September 13.
The qipao (or cheongsam) performance, mooncake making, hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing) experience, Chinese calligraphy writing, and many other activities of the event aroused the great interest of international students from Pyatigorsk State University of Russia. Under the guidance of teachers, the students copied the Chinese character “永 (yong, meaning eternity)” stroke by stroke, and also kneaded dough and wrapped fillings by themselves to experience mooncake making and understand the connotations of traditional Chinese customs such as having mooncakes.
In a strong festive atmosphere, the students were particularly fascinated and full of expectations for the China Media Group’s upcoming 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival Gala, when they heard the gala would be held in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, saying that it would definitely be a brilliant performance.
The event was hosted by the Information Office of Liaoning Provincial People’s Government, and co-organized by Liaoning Vocational and Technical College of Modern Service, Liaoning University of Technology, and Liaoning Provincial China-Russia Friendship Association.
