To promote the high-quality and connotative construction of Confucius Institutes (Classrooms), and strengthen mutual learning and exchanges among regional Confucius Institute partnership universities, the 2024 Liaoning Confucius Institute Partnership Alliance Working Conference & Symposium on Management and Collaboration in International Chinese Language Education Projects was recently convened in Beijing.

At the conference, Liu Hong, chairman of the Liaoning Confucius Institute Partnership Alliance and president of Dalian University of Foreign Languages, gave a work report. She summarized the work of the alliance and its cooperation mechanism from 2023 to 2024, in the construction of the Chinese language institute system, the talent team, the Confucius Institute brand, the academic platform, the standard system, and the cooperation mechanism project. David Gyurjinyan, president of Brusov State University in Yerevan, capital of Armenia, spoke on behalf of the foreign presidents, and introduced the current development situation of the Confucius Institute in Armenia.

Based on the current situation of international Chinese language education in Liaoning Province, the participants conducted in-depth discussions on how to develop Confucius Institutes in a localized, connotative and characteristic way, focusing on project construction, management and collaboration.

The Liaoning Confucius Institute Partnership Alliance was established in December 2019. With the Confucius Institute as a link, it is China’s first non-governmental international higher education cooperation organization jointly established by Chinese and foreign partnership universities.
