During the Qingming Festival this year, the Liaoning Provincial Museum experienced a peak in visitor flow. The rich and varied activities allowed visitors to fully immerse themselves in the unique cultural atmosphere of the museum while enjoying the fine exhibitions, manifesting the new vitality of Liaoning’s cultural tourism.

During the three-day holiday from April 4 to 6, the Liaoning Provincial Museum received a total of 61,800 visits, an increase of 30.94% over the same period last year, setting a new record high. Among them, visits from within Liaoning Province accounted for 43%, and those from outside the province held 57%. The top five sources of visits from outside the province are: Jilin Province, Heilongjiang Province, Hebei Province, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and Shandong Province.

Visitors savored the charm of the Silk Road civilization from the bamboo and wooden slips, and reveled in the elegant life of women in Classical Roman Time from the sculptures. By viewing the cultural relics exhibition for the Year of the Snake, visitors explored the long-standing Chinese zodiac culture. The dreamlike scenes in the digital exhibition hall also enabled visitors to feel the splendor of the Tang and Song dynasties across time and space. The museum’s high-quality cultural exhibitions provide visitors with the opportunities of engaging with cultural relics, learning about China’s excellent traditional culture, and gaining some insight into the world’s cultures.

On April 5, the live broadcast event “Overview of ‘China in Bamboo and Wooden Slips: Exhibition of Exquisite Han Dynasty Discoveries from Gansu’”, jointly launched by the museum and CCTV News App, drew nearly 125,000 online views, receiving more than 30,000 likes from viewers on the museum’s official WeChat Channel alone.
