On April 15, the Information Office of Liaoning Provincial People’s Government held a press conference to update Liaoning’s efforts in driving the development of large-scale AI models through science and technology.

Recent years, Liaoning Province has vigorously promoted the “AI+” initiative, accelerating the research, development, and application of large-scale AI models in sectors such as energy and chemical engineering, intelligent manufacturing, smart agriculture, digital healthcare and so on. These efforts not only facilitate the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, but also foster the growth of strategic emerging sectors, injecting robust technological momentum into the construction of a modern industrial system with distinctive Liaoning advantages.

During the development of large-scale AI models, Liaoning Province leveraged its rich scientific, educational, and industrial resources in various application scenarios. By promoting the deep integration of large-scale AI model technologies in key sectors, it has established benchmark applications of industry intelligence with distinctive Liaoning characteristics. To date, Liaoning’s computing power capacity has reached 1,600 petaflops, with the AI computing centers in Shenyang City and Dalian City accounting for 800 petaflops. Moreover, it has incubated more than 30 large-scale AI models and initiated application demonstrations.

Liaoning Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Development Conference and Youth AI Innovation Competition Launch Ceremony will be held from April 17 to 25. Themed on “Uniting Minds and Forces to Create an Intelligent Future”, this conference will introduce Liaoning’s three-year roadmap for AI industry innovation, issue new policies designed to bolster AI industry growth through technological advancements, present a series of cutting-edge large-scale AI models from various sectors, and facilitate precise collaboration opportunities among businesses, universities, and research institutions.
