This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam, the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges, and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of friendly relations between the Liaoning Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the Long An Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations. Mai Văn Nhiều, member of the Standing Committee of the Long An Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vice Chairman of the Long An Provincial People’s Council, and Chairman of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association of Long An Province, has been invited to Liaoning Province for boosting cross-national friendship, and pursuing common development.

Mai Văn Nhiều has visited China many times, but this is his first visit to Liaoning Province. During this visit, Mai was deeply impressed by Liaoning’s unique charm and infinite potential. As early as 2015, the Long An Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, and the Liaoning Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries signed a memorandum of cooperation. Since then, the two sides have always been maintaining a positive and friendly interactive relationship, creating more opportunities for future cooperation in multiple fields.

In recent years, Liaoning Province has witnessed close economic and trade cooperation with Vietnam. In 2024, Liaoning’s total import and export volume with Vietnam reached 10.41 billion yuan, including 7.86 billion yuan in exports, and 2.55 billion yuan in imports. As of March this year, 38 enterprises from Liaoning invested in Vietnam, with a total agreed investment of 99.286 million US dollars. Mai Văn Nhiều has fully grasped the outcomes of cooperation: “These data represent the solid strides of cooperation between the two sides, and also reveal a huge potential for mutual cooperation. Liaoning Province and Long An Province have strong complementarity in economic structures and industrial characteristics, offering a broad space for cooperation in expanding trade scale, deepening industrial collaboration, and conducting technological exchanges.”

During this visit, Mai Văn Nhiều visited several automobile manufacturing enterprises in the cities of Shenyang and Dalian. On site, Mai and Liaoning entrepreneurs introduced each other’s resource endowments, and had in-depth dialogues on technological cooperation and market expansion. He praised Liaoning entrepreneurs for their pragmatism, devotion and adventurous spirit. As a result, preliminary cooperation intentions with many enterprises came to fruition. “Liaoning enterprises’ technological strength and market experience and Long An Province’s advantages in resources and policy support complement each other. We look forward to creating a new momentum into mutually beneficial and win-win development between the two sides.” Mai said enthusiastically.

During the “2025 China (Liaoning)-Vietnam (Long An) Friendship Week”, Shenyang City and Long An Province signed a memorandum of friendly cooperation. A series of activities, such as policy promotion, industry matchmaking meetings, and business negotiation meetings, have built a broader and more efficient platform for cooperation between Liaoning and Long An. “This fruitful trip will lead to a brighter future. Liaoning is a treasure land for China-Vietnam cooperation. Liaoning’s favorable business environment, and profound foundation in the equipment manufacturing industry have enhanced my confidence in the industrial matchmaking and cooperation between the two provinces.” Blooming with confidence, Mai Văn Nhiều assured that after returning to Vietnam, he will actively promote the implementation of the outcomes, facilitate the exchanges of students between the two sides, launch more cultural and people-to-people exchange activities, striving to establish pragmatic, long-term, and mutually beneficial cooperative relations with more cities in Liaoning.

Through visiting scenic spots and historical sites, savoring intangible cultural heritage delicacies, and admiring the natural landscapes in Liaoning, Mai Văn Nhiều truly felt that Liaoning is a place with profound cultural connotations, a place that is fashionable and romantic, a place that maintains steady development, and a place full of opportunities. “Both Shenyang and Dalian are progressive, civilized and affectionate cities. They provide useful reference for the urban construction of Long An Province.” Mai said.
