The award ceremony for the 2025 National Culture and Tourism Data Innovation and Application Competition was recently held in Beijing. The entry titled Mountains and Rivers Forging Links, Elegance and Wisdom in Creation—Liaoning Provincial Museum’s Digital Engine and Ecological Cycle System, jointly submitted by the Liaoning Provincial Museum, China Telecom Liaoning Branch, and Shenyang Komet Technology Co., Ltd., was awarded the first prize. This project became the only work from Liaoning region to receive this honor, marking a significant breakthrough for the museum industry in Liaoning Province within a national-level culture and tourism data innovation competition.
This competition featured fierce competition, with over 100 entries from 92 organizations and individuals across the country. The entries covered multiple fields, including smart scenic spots, cultural heritage protection, cultural and tourism consumption analysis, and digital marketing. Following three rounds of evaluation—preliminary, secondary, and final review—Mountains and Rivers Forging Links, Elegance and Wisdom in Creation—Liaoning Provincial Museum’s Digital Engine and Ecological Cycle System distinguished itself among numerous entries.
This project is a vivid implementation of the national cultural digitization strategy. Building upon the digital achievements of the “Mountains and Rivers in Common: Exhibition of Cultural Relics of History and Culture of the Liao and Jin Dynasties”, it integrates advanced technologies such as cognitive computing, physics simulation engines, and cross-modal generation. It has promoted the evolution of cultural relic digitization from foundational data acquisition to deep AI-driven activation. The core achievement of this project, “Elegance of the Tang and Song Dynasties—The Artistic World in Digital Painting Realms”, employs a 1,200-square-meter fully immersive space as its carrier. It achieves a paradigm shift from “digitalization of cultural relics” to “digital native creation”, representing a major breakthrough for the Liaoning Museum in the integration of culture and tourism and digital innovation.
Wang Xiaowen, curator of the Liaoning Provincial Museum, stated that winning the first prize for this project not only demonstrates the innovative development of the Liaoning Provincial Museum in digital museum construction, but also provides an example for developing new quality productive forces in museums within Liaoning Province. It is conducive to giving full play to the driving role of data elements, empowering economic and social development, and further contributing to the “Liaoning Provincial Museum Solution” to the building of smart cultural tourism and digital cultural museums.
