What a “surprise packet”! Over 60 outstanding intangible cultural heritage (ICH) items from across Liaoning Province were showcased at the Liaoning ICH Autumn Expo, held at Liaoning Grand Theater. Scarlett from LICC took an immersive “check-in” tour and had an absolute blast.

Guided by a master, Scarlett performed shadow puppetry, bringing the thousand-year-old stories to life behind the screen. Getting hands-on with cloisonné enamel, she saw how copper wires and colorful glazes blended to create stunning textures. Putting on a traditional Mongolian costume, she instantly transformed into a grassland lady! Midway, a feast of traditional delicacies was presented, with every bite bursting with authentic flavor. And the creative and cultural products were another major highlight.

It was only after chatting with the ICH inheritors that Scarlett realized how profound the wisdom is hidden within these traditional crafts!
