On February 9, the Information Office of Liaoning Provincial People’s Government held a press conference to outline the province’s overall arrangements and signature highlights for cultural and tourism activities during the Spring Festival. The briefing focused on efforts to invigorate the cultural and tourism consumption market, enhance Liaoning’s cultural tourism brand, and better meet public demand for festive cultural and tourism experiences.

During the Spring Festival holiday, to enrich public cultural life and respond to the diverse, high-quality travel expectations of visitors from home and abroad, Liaoning has rolled out more than 1,000 innovative and content-rich cultural and tourism events under the theme “Creative Winter Experiences, Vibrant Travels in Liaoning”. Centered on four major thematic sections, the province aims to present a Spring Festival cultural and tourism feast where visitors can trace cultural heritage, savor traditional Spring Festival customs, enjoy ice and snow activities, and relax in warm hot springs. A lively, widely participatory celebration of folk culture is set to unfold, with temple fairs, traditional markets, intangible cultural heritage experiences, and folk activities staged across the province, each showcasing distinctive local characteristics and rich Spring Festival traditions.

Liaoning has also rolled out “Ten Must-Try Ice and Snow Experience Guide”, carefully curating five themed travel routes—ice and snow plus culture, hot springs, sports, folk customs, and cuisine—to offer a comprehensive showcase of the province’s distinctive ice and snow tourism appeal. A wide range of mass-participation winter sports events will be staged across the region, including snowball fights in the Shenyang metropolitan area, snow football matches in Anshan, and the traditional single-blade ice-sliding competition in Liaoyang, collectively heating up the winter season.

In addition, Liaoning is promoting an immersive “hot springs plus snow play” consumption scenario that highlights the contrast between ice and warmth. In Shenyang’s Shenbei New District, hot spring resorts integrate tropical rainforest-themed landscapes, ice and snow parks, and skyline pools to create all-day ice and snow hot spring complexes. At Benxi’s Guanmen Mountain, hot springs flow amid forested snowy landscapes, while Gongchangling Hot Springs are widely known for their distinctive “dual hot-and-cold springs”, offering visitors a romantic and visually striking winter experience.
