From the boundless cosmos in the “Galactic Rhapsody: Verse One” to the profound Han Dynasty legacy in “Exploring the Marquis of Haihun”, the VR exhibitions at the Liaoning Provincial Museum have consistently captivated young audiences. Through one dialogue after another that transcends time and space, these VR exhibitions build connections between the public and history, civilization, and the universe.

As the Spring Festival approaches, the Liaoning Provincial Museum will launch two VR exhibitions: “Back to the Jurassic” and “Panda’s World”. “Back to the Jurassic” transports audiences back to the world of dinosaurs, offering an immersive VR experience of the grandeur and wonder of the Jurassic era. Visitors will step into the role of an invited explorer, entering Count Earlock’s natural history museum filled with 19th-century charm. Guided by the paleontologist Dr. Angela, a mysterious “time gate” quietly opens. Suddenly, the humid air of the tropics envelops them. Amid towering ancient trees, a massive Brachiosaurus is bending down to drink, while not far away, a pack of Velociraptors hunts in coordination. Audiences will no longer be mere spectators behind glass but firsthand witnesses to this prehistoric world.
“Panda’s World” invites visitors to appreciate the epic intertwining of species and civilization. Starting from the “Panda Memory Laboratory” and guided by zoological experts, audiences will embark on a journey tracing back through time. It begins 8 million years ago, when pandas roamed ancient forests, to the life-or-death choices they faced during the harsh Ice Age, and further to their presence in tribal totems and the cultural scrolls of the prosperous Tang Dynasty palace… The existence of pandas acts as a mirror, reflecting the vast changes in Earth’s environment and humanity’s evolving relationship with nature, from revering and conquering nature to seeking harmonious coexistence.

From the exploration of the universe in the “Galactic Rhapsody: Verse One” to the archaeological reconstruction of history in “Exploring the Marquis of Haihun”, and now with “Back to the Jurassic” and “Panda’s World”, the sequence of VR exhibitions at the Liaoning Provincial Museum has established a clear thematic thread: spanning the breadth of the cosmos, delving into the depth of civilizations, and ultimately exploring the profound richness of life itself.
