The Shengjing 1636 Qipao Museum in Shenyang is a perfect destination to explore the culture of the Chinese qipao. Home to 360 precious qipao pieces, the museum showcases the over-a-century evolution of qipao in a chronological order, ranging from imperial court finery and exquisitely embroidered qipao to modern designs integrated with contemporary fashion elements.

It not only displays rare cultural relics that combine Su embroidery craftsmanship with imperial court patterns, but also features an intangible cultural heritage (ICH) workshop where ICH skills such as kesi weaving and pankou (traditional Chinese knot button) making are demonstrated on site. Visitors can try on qipao, take photos in ancient-style settings, and learn to make pankou by hand. This allows both Chinese and international visitors to experience the unique allure of qipao immersively and feel the profound cultural heritage of Chinese costumes.
